RESERVATIONS
Last year’s pasta dinner was a huge success and filled to capacity. In 2010 we will be adding a tent outside and will be increasing the serving lines to limit the wait. We will have an indoor and under-the-tent capacity of 200 swimmers, kayakers, boat people and their families. 40 spots have already been set aside for our volunteer Yackers and our ever ready volunteer “boat people.” So that leaves room for the first 160 who reserve and pay in advance.
If the weather is clear and we can spread out we will allow additional walk ins on the day of the dinner.
In order to assure your place at the table of the social event of the summer season, please reserve your spot now. Here’s the wonderful menu for the dinner they will be preparing. This year, there will also be a cash bar for those whose training regimen allows.
Also, please remember we will have advance sign-ins and tours of the course starting at noon at the Gateway Center in Newport on Friday July 23rd, followed by the Frontier Animal Society’s Pet and Swimmers Parade just before dinner. At dinner we will be introducing IROC’s volunteer kayakers to their swimmers so that they can meet each other and discuss feeding and support needs and plan things out. We will also hand out instructions and rules for the swim. This will also be done, early Saturday morning as well. But by then most of you will just be looking at the water and wondering how cold it really is. So we hope you will come the Dinner and be fed and be prepared for the next day’s swim.
