RESERVATIONS
Last year’s pasta dinner was a huge success and filled to capacity. 330 Swimmers, Yackers, and Boat People enjoyed a great all-you-can-eat pasta dinner prepared by the wonderful folks at Montgomery’s Café. What a great night, all the training done, the tapering complete, the anticipation ripe for tomorrow, sitting under the tents on the Waterfront with friends, family, and kindred spirits. This year we will be adding another tent and are preparing for even more of you. (Is that really possible?) We have room for 400. Advance Tickets are $15 for all who are 13 and older, $10 for kids aged 6 thru 12 and $5 for kids under the age of 6. Tickets are limited to 400 and they must be purchased before June 10, 2011 so that we can plan for you.
When you make your reservations, please indicate your preference, lasagna or spaghetti (it’s a non binding referendum, just to help us out in the planning). We will be offering a meat sauce and a non-meat sauce on the spaghetti. The lasagna will be three cheese. As with last year, we welcome you to BYOB. We will provide milk, water, soda, and set ups.
In order to assure your place at THE social event of Newport’s High Season, please reserve your spot now. The earlier you register, the easier it is for us to plan.
Also, please remember we will have advance sign-ins and tours of the course starting at noon at the Gateway Center in Newport on Friday July 8th, followed by the World Famous Frontier Animal Society’s Pet and Swimmers Parade just before dinner. Paraders are invited to participate in our Jimmy Buffett Look-A-Like Contest. At dinner we will be introducing IROC’s volunteer kayakers to their swimmers so that they can meet each other and discuss feeding and support needs and plan things out. We will also hand out instructions and rules for the swim. This will also be done, early Saturday morning as well. But by then most of you will just be looking at the water and wondering how cold it really is. So we hope you will come to the Dinner and be fed and be prepared for the next day’s swim.
